We have a clinical laboratory with equipment and expert personnel in this work.
We work in our main building 24/7 and in the offices with schedules
specific that you can consult here

TECHNOLOGY
To carry out clinical analyses, the laboratory has implemented automated platforms, which allow safe and timely results. The reagents used are standardized against recognized international references.
The samples of our users, in a unique way, are identified by barcodes, recognized by the different analyzers, which guarantees the traceability of the sample throughout the provision of the service.

A laboratory computer system communicates the equipment in a network, which eliminates human error and allows the security and confidentiality of the information

CONDITIONS FOR THE ANALYSIS

Blood samples

· Fasting: The ideal is that the sample, to carry out the laboratory tests, be collected (taken) in the early hours of the morning, after fasting for 10 to 12 hours, if this is not contraindicated.
· Alcohol Consumption: Before a blood test, avoid drinking alcoholic beverages in the previous three days, since their consumption will interfere with the results of triglycerides, cholesterol, GT Gamma and glucose. They will also alter the concentrations of certain liver enzymes
· Tobacco: do not smoke before the extraction. Since it affects the determination of blood glucose.
· Medication: Test results for the study of blood coagulation are altered by taking antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and aspirin. Even taking vitamin complexes alters the results, such as vitamin C that alters creatinine and vitamin E can alter platelet tests.
· Special indications: For more information consult the laboratory

Urine samples

Partial urine
It is used for the general examination of urine (physical, chemical and sediment), culture or determination of some specific analysis. It is preferable to collect the first urine in the morning, but if necessary it can be collected at any time. The container must be plastic, resistant, sterile and with a secure screw cap. For collection follow the instructions.
1. Wash your hands and cleanse the periurethral region (end of the penis, labia, vulva) with soap and water, and rinse very well while keeping the foreskin or vaginal folds retracted
2. Eliminate the first part of urination, initial since it is loaded with desquamated epithelial cells, as well as bacteria from the vaginal canal and the first portion of the urethra.
3. Collect the urine emitted afterward (middle part of the jet) directly in a sterile bottle.
4. Close the bottle and label with the identity of the patient
5. Take to the laboratory within the first hour of collecting the urine, otherwise refrigerate.

Urine sample in children
1. A sterile plastic collection bag can be used.
2. Place it after having washed the genitals, adhering it to the skin by means of the adhesive ring.
3. If it is not possible to collect urine within 30 minutes, change the bag to a new one.
4. Use a maximum of 3 collectors in a day, since the adhesive can cause damage to the skin.
If urine tests are requested over a period of time, check with the laboratory.

Stool samples

STOOL SAMPLE
Stool sample for parasitological examination
· Refrain from ingesting antiparasitics, barium or bismuth, or oily laxatives for at least 7 days before sample collection.
Collect the fresh stool sample, without mixing it with urine, and put in the box a portion of freshly emitted stool the size of an olive if it is consistent, or a tablespoon if it is liquid, mix well and store in a cool, dry place. .
· Once the sample is collected, deliver it to the laboratory as soon as possible.
· In infants, take a freshly issued sample from the diaper, or take the diaper to the laboratory.

Stool sample for fecal mucus.
A stool sample should be collected in a clean or sterile wide-mouth bottle. A swab sample will not work. The sample should be from the mucus-like part of the stool.

Stool sample to determine occult blood.
OMNILAB uses the method by anti-human hemoglobin antibodies, which is very specific, there is no interference due to traces of meat, iron or dyes of certain nutrients. The patient is not required to refrain from eating red meat, chorizo, black pudding (stuffed), etc. Therefore, this test does not require the patient to observe a diet.
The sample must NOT have been exposed to contamination with urine since there may be blood in the urine, due to menstruation, or some renal pathology, which will affect the result. False positive results are usually obtained in patients with hemorrhoids. Serial samples over a few days increase the accuracy of the test.

Pharyngeal exudate culture

We ask you not to perform any of the following actions, at least 2 hours before taking the sample:
– Do not eat or drink.
– Do not brush your teeth or tongue with toothpaste.
– Do not gargle.
– Do not use mouthwash or antiseptic.

Vaginal secretion study

The patient should not take antibiotics or use antiseptic vaginal solutions, suppositories or ointments in the days prior to sample collection. She should not have sexual intercourse 48 hours before taking the sample.

Points of Attention

OMNILAB has implemented customer service points for taking and receiving samples from users who require our services. These sites have competent personnel and operate under the security and trust standards that characterize the entire organization.
